Actress Rekha turned 53 today but has not allowed age to catch up as she continues to be Bollywood's ever-graceful style diva who manages to hold on to her own.
Rekha, who was named by a British magazine Eastern eye as one of "Asia's Sexiest Woman" last year, has remained out of public glare in the recent years but still sets many a heart aflutter.
Considered to be an icon of Indian cinema, Rekha throughout the 1970s till date has been considered as a sex symbol, known for her beauty, acting talent and dancing skills.
Rekha, whose birthname is Bhanurekha Ganesan, has played her part with perfection in most of the movies she has starred in, be it as a classical courtesan in Umrao Jaan or a housewife in Ijazzat or a fun-loving girl in Khubsoorat.
"As a performer, she is inspiring. It's not only Umrao Jaan but her entire career and characters that she essayed through her performances that are extremely inspiring," Aishwarya Rai had said in an interview eulogising her versatility.
