Indian model and actress Yukta Mookhey was born on October 7th, 1979 in Mumbai, India.
She was crowned Miss World in December 1999 at the Olympia theatre in London.
Yukta is a graduate and has studied zoology at Kelkar college, and she has a diploma in computer sciences and has studied Hindustani classical music.
Her family is from north India but she was educated in the Gulf because her father's work took the family there. Mookhey's mother Aruna runs a grooming workshop, Swiss Chalet, at Santa Cruz here while her father Inderlal is the managing director of Ragz Clothing Company.
She likes prawns in garlic sauce, adores Brad Pitt and admires Jane Austen.
Yukta made her acting debut in the 2001 Tamil film, Poovellam Un Vasam, which starred Ajith Kumar and Jyothika.
She followed that up with the 2002 Hindi film Pyaasa (her first starring role), the 2006 Bollywood action comedy Love In Japan, Katputtli (also in 2006), a Bhojpuri movie titled Kab Kahaba Tu I Love You, and 2008's Memsahab.
On November 2, 2008, Yukta married Prince Tulli in a a traditional "Sikh" ceremony in a Sikh Gurudwara in Nagpur.
