You know I was almost 100% sure that I had already done a write up on Aarti Puri, but according to Blogger I haven't.
Weird.
Anyway, Indian television actress, movie actress and model Arthi Puri was born on January 8th.
Yeah...no year listed or place listed.
She's almost as mysterious as one of those masked lucha libre wrestlers.
Sheesh.
According to IMDb she has only appeared in nine films.
The first was Tabaahi (1996) and the last was Once Upon a Time in Bihar (2015).

The Best Bollywood Item Numbers - Part 4 - Katrina Kaif
Of course Katrina Kaif is very popular not only in India but here in the States as well.
And she did one of my favorite Item Numbers of all time Sheila Ki Jawani from the film Tees Maar Khan.
Of course in true Bollywood fashion, the item number is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani.
Choreographer-director Farah Khan won the Filmfare award for best choreography for the movie.
And also in Bollywood fashion, the number was so "controversial" that a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed with the petitioner asking for a ban of the song, claiming it was "indecent" and "immoral".
The movie did wind up getting a few cuts, but Sheila Ki Jawani remained intact.
Here is the Full Number with Sub-titles
"Sheila Ki Jawani" (Full Song) Tees Maar Khan

Riya Sen - The Hottest Woman in Bollywood?
While Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif may battle it out for the number one spot on internet searches, Riya Sen is the queen of this blog.
An entry I did on her way back on October 10th, 2007 is the most popular page here.
So if Riya is one of the sexiest women in India, why don't we see more of her than we do here in the US?
Well she's not been very active on-screen lately with only one film (Noukadubi / Kashmakash) released in 2011.
However you can expect to see a lot of her in the media when she appears in Krrish 2 (or Krrish 3) in 2013.

Bollywood films, a niche in Pakistan

During the India-Pakistan war in 1965, Indian films were banned in Pakistan.
In the midst of this love-hate relationship between the two countries Indian cinema, which was shunned by the Islamic hardliners and banned by the government, was loved and avidly watched in private.
The following was so steady and loyal that it created a parellel flourishing in the underground market for film DVDs. A world where passions had to be kept concealed.
Mughal-e-Azam, which was released in colour in 2006 was the first among three Indian films to hit Pakistani theatres.
Seen by an earlier generation in better times (1960), the film had evoked tremendous response.
Reportedly its prints were paraded on elephant back in Lahore, the city where the lovers Prince Salim and Anarkali are buried.
Four decades later, the coloured version may not have brought the elephants out, but it did manage bring in the audiences.
Mehvish Mateen, a student said, "I would love to see Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. It's a great film and Mughal-e-Azam. I love Madhubala. She is my favorite heroine and I would love to watch her everyday.''
Second in line was Akbar Khan's Taj Mahal, also a period film based on the love story of a Mughal emperor.
Aggressively promoted across the border, the film was also boosted by the presence of a Pakistani film actress, Sonya Jehan in the lead role.
