Bollywood's Mallika Sherawat Conquers Hollywood

Mallika Sherawat, Bollywood, bollywood women
Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat is continuing her assault on Hollywood, and it looks like she's winning.

Friday (August 14) Mallika will be getting an honor that no other Bollywood star has received.
Because of her contributions to the Hollywood film industry and charities, she will be made an honorary citizen of Los Angeles by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Also in attendance at the ceremony will be the former Mayor Richard Riordan, Council member Jose Huizar and the Los Angeles City Council.

And according to rumors, Mallika is considering getting her body insured the way pro footballer Cristiano Ronaldo got his legs insured.

Mallika made quite a smash at the premiere of Quentin Tarantino's new movie.
Her outfit got as much attention as she did.
And she got quite a lot, talking to not only Tarantino, but Brett Ratner and others as well.
Her dress for the premiere has been pretty much universally slammed by online fashion sources.
Me?
Actually I kinda liked it.
Realize of course I grew up reading comics, and the dress reminded me of the femme fatale/super villainess' from the comics.
When I saw the pic of her and Brett Ratner (who made X-Men: The Last Stand) I thought " If he does another X-Men movie, there's his Black Queen!"

From what I saw, Quentin looked enamored with Mallika.
Could we be seeing her in an upcoming Tarantino movie perhaps?
Maybe we should wait and see how Hisss does first.

Mallika Sherawat - Bollywood Women

Mallika Sherawat - Bollywood Women

Mallika Sherawat was born October 24, 1972, as Reema Lamba in Rohtak, Haryana, India.
She is an Indian actress and model .
She has a degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University.

Sherawat's birth name is Reema Lamba; she adopted the screen name of "Mallika", meaning "queen", to avoid confusion with other actresses named Reema. "Sherawat" is her mother's maiden name.

Mallika became popular the amount of skin shown and the numerous on-screen kisses in the movie Khwahish (2003) which was, by Indian standards quite scandalous. Later that year, she starred in Murder, a film that again raised eyebrows due to the amount of skin shown by Ms. Sherawat, although she also received a 'Best Actress' nomination at the Zee Cine Awards for her performance.

She has also been in the news as the first Bollywood actress to be featured in the Jackie Chan, "The Myth", though for all the buzz, it was more of an extended cameo than a starring role. It might also mark the first time that a Bollywood actress was cast in a film outside Bollywood for her sex appeal. As part of the publicity for the film, Time Magazine film critic Richard Corliss, after meeting her at the Cannes film festival, described her as "a young woman, so gorgeous, curvaceous and genial, and so open in her ambition to be the next big thing, that she surely will be. Striding down the Croisette, making the paparazzi pop their bulbs, Sherawat summoned old-timers' memories of a festival 50 years ago, when the vision of the young Brigitte Bardot on the beach first sold the world on the notion of this Riviera resort as the home for unbuttoned movie glamour. The movies may have grown more dour, but the stars still make it smile. As Cannes was, so Cannes is."

In July 2004, the Bollywood film producers' union IMPAA temporarily blacklisted Mallika. Filmmaker Ramesh Sharma complained that she had committed a breach of contract when she failed to turn up, as promised, for the filming of Kab Kyun Kahan (started in 1999).
