Not actually a Bollywood actress, Malayalam and Tamil language actress Kausalya started her career as a lead heroine, she has since gone on to portray supporting roles.
She is known as Nandhini in Malayalam movies.
Kausalya got her big break in 1995 in the Malayalam film Surya Kalyanam starring Suresh Gopi.
She went on to appear in Kaalamellam Kaadhal Vaazhga, Ayal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu (with Mohanlal), Nerukku nare (with Vijay), Priyamudan (again with Vijay), Karumadikkuttan (with Kalabhavan Mani), Santosh Subramaniam, Thirumalai and Vanathai Polai.
Since she mostly acted saree clad and in conservative roles, the era of Simrans and the Glam Dolls regulated her to mainly supporting roles such as in Tirumalai and Santosh Subramaniam.
Kausalya made her teleserial debut in Manaivi which aired 292 episodes on Sun TV.
