Neha Dhupia - Bollywood Actress

Neha Dhupia was born on August 27th, 1980 in Kochi, Kerala, India.
She is not only an actress and model, but she is also a former Femina Miss India winner, having won in 2002.
Neha made her Bollywood debut in 2003 in the film, "Qayamat: City Under Threat"

Neha Dhupia "Bollywood Hero" Updates

Back in May I posted an entry about Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia being in an upcoming comedy miniseries titled "Bollywood Hero" for the Independent Film Channel starring Chris Kattan (Corky Romano).
Well from the looks of it, everyone else has caught up and announced it in the past few days...LOL

But the update part of this is that

1. Neha's character will be called "Lalima", and as Neha puts it herself, "My character is overbearing, typical Bollywood heroine who is known more for controversies than her acting skills."
"overbearing, typical Bollywood heroine"...that might not set too well with other Bollywood actresses!

2. The mini series will have cameos by Keanu Reeves and Drew Barrymore.

3. The show will be aired on IFC, an independent film channel from August 6 onwards.

And riding the hopefully good reviews of the mini series, Neha will have six movies coming out, "Paying Guest", "Pappu Can't Dance Sala", "Raftaar","Raat gayi baat gayi", "I'm 24" and "De Dhanadhan".

Neha Dhupia in "Bollywood Hero"

“Bollywood Hero,” is an upcoming comedy miniseries for the Independent Film Channel starring Chris Kattan (Corky Romano).
But also in the miniseries will be Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia.
Neha may not be a huge hit in India, but her work ethic has brought praise from her America cast and crew.
Initial viewing of the films trailer by critics has lead to the idea that this just may be a sleeper hit, and that will look very good not only on the career of Chris Kattan but Neha as well.

Neha has several movies coming out in 2009 including "Paying Guest", "Pappu can't dance sala", "Raftaar","Raat gayi baat gayi", "I'm 24" and "De Dhanadhan".

Hopefully good reviews for "Bollywood Hero" will boost Neha's career.

So what's been keeping Neha Dhupia busy?
Right now, a shoot of Shivam Nair's film with Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal and Boman Irani.. it's tentatively titled Chala Murari Murder Karne. Then, there's Rajat Kapoor's Mithiya, Saurabh Shukla's 24 and Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama with Rajpal Yadav.

Have you deliberately omitted Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyaan from the list because he hit out at you for not promoting Shootout At Lokhandwala?
Oh, that's been sorted. I wanted to promote Shootout.. but there was a misunderstanding that's still to be cleared. But we are back on track. I should be shooting a promotional song for Dus Kahaniyaan soon.

Aren't you doing a negative role is Singh is King?
No. Singh Is King is a comedy.. so, even my character is funny.

Promoting brands and making public appearances is probably the best way to kill time for an actor who's taking a break with films. That's what former Miss India Neha Dhupia is busy doing.

On Monday afternoon Neha stepped in at the ITC Grand hotel in Mumbai to promote a telecom company's latest mobile handset.

"This one's high on technology, it's got Internet radio, which is very important for us today it gives us traffic updates and other things besides great music," said Neha.

Neha Dhupia was born on August 27th, 1980 in Cochin, Kerala.
She is an Indian model, actress and former Femina Miss India 2002.
Neha was born to a Sikh family. Her father Commander Pradip Dhupia is in the Indian Navy and mother is Manpinder.
At the age of 5, she started her career with a TV serial Rajdhani.
In 2002 she was crowned Miss India Universe, and at Miss Universe 2002, she finished in the top ten.
Neha's next movie"Kuch Love Kuch Drama" will be released in 2009.
