Now, Twinkle Khanna turns painter

It’s raining painters in Bollywood. Twinkle Khanna is the latest celebrity to join the bandwagon of amateur painters.

We already know about the painting talents of Salman Khan , Sushmita Sen , Dia Mirza and Urmila Matondkar . Katrina Kaif recently gifted a self-painted canvas to filmmaker Vipul Shah. And now Twinkle Khanna has joined the list.

Encouraged by her mother Dimple Kapadia , Twinkle has now teamed up with artist Seema Kohli to paint a canvas for charity initiative organised by the NGO Khushii.

Although the canvas is mostly painted by Kohli, Twinkle has added her inputs and has lend a few brush strokes as well.

Twinkle already knows sketching quite well because of her profession of Interior Designing.

Indian film actress: Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle Khanna (born December 29, 1974 in Pune, India ) is an Indian film actress. She is the daughter of film stars Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna and sister of Rinke Khanna.

She made her debut opposite Bobby Deol in Barsaat (1995). Though the film did not do well, she received the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her performance. She then went on to do many films which got her good reviews and recognition from the audience. She has acted with some of the best stars in the industry including Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Govinda. Though not a very successful actress she managed to get recognition from critics.

Her other notable film roles include the girl next door in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998), the undercover spy along with Shahrukh Khan in Baadshah (1999) and the village belle in Mela (2000).

She left the industry after her marriage to Akshay Kumar. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega (2001) which was received averagely at the box office.

Twinkle recently did the interiors for Rani Mukerji's new house.

In 2002, Twinkle opened her own interior design store in Crawford Market, Mumbai called The White Window, in partnership with her long time friend Gurlein Manchanda. Since then the store has received a prestigious Elle Decor International Design Award (from Indian edition of Elle Decor magazine), and Twinkle has opened up another branch of the flagship store elsewhere in Mumbai.

She married actor Akshay Kumar on January 14, 2001. Their first child, a son named Arav Kumar, was born on September 15, 2002.
