MP and beauty queen back carers week

CARERS are being reminded they may be entitled to money from a special fund.
Lincolnshire County Council's Carers Fund has given £200 to 750 carers since it was set up last June.
This week is Carers Week and the county council wants to make sure carers are aware of the fund.
MP Quentin Davies did his bit to highlight Carers Week, when he teamed up with former Miss Great Britain, Preeti Desai at a promotional event.
Mr Davies and Preeti are drawing attention to the UK's six million carers – people who look after a loved one who is either ill, frail or disabled – to help them gain the recognition and support they desperately need.

Preeti Desai gets offer to act in Bollywood films
London, May 24 (PTI):

NRI beauty Preeti Desai, winner of Miss Great Britain crown in 2006, has received several offers to act in Bollywood films.

"I hadn't thought about acting before, but some movie producers have approached me and I am going to meet them. It would be silly not to take up an opportunity like that," 25-year-old Desai told reporters when asked about whether she was interested in an acting career Bollywood films.
