Indian actress Sushmita Sen was born on November 19th, 1975 Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Not only is she a popular actress, but back in 1994, she was the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe competition.

When Sushmita was eighteen, she won the Femina Miss India pageant (beating "The Most Beautiful Woman in The World", Aishwarya Rai).
She proceeded to represent India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant in Manila, Philippines and won.
Using the fame from winning Miss Universe, she entered acting, and made her film debut in the 1996 film, Dastak.
Sushmita went on to appear in over thirty films and has been nominated for (and won) many awards.

Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra champions social cause

After championing the cause of Bihar flood victims, Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra is all set to raise funds for the welfare of physically challenged and visually impaired in the state capital.
The actress hails from Bihar. She has earned fame through her films such as Garam Masala, 123 and Traffic Signal. Chandra was in the city on a two-day visit.
Chandra along with the other Bollywood personalities from Bihar — Shatrughan Sinha, Shekhar Suman, Manoj Bajpai and Prakash Jha — is all set to organise a charity programme for the welfare of the physically and visually challenged.
It was she, who had pioneered to provide all possible help to Bihar flood-victims when she was approached by various voluntary organisations.
“I immediately contacted all the actress and collected money for the welfare of our people,” added Neetu.

Bollywood actress Kajol has been appointed goodwill ambassador of the Britain-based Loomba Trust that works for the welfare and education of children of poor widows in India.
"I am honoured and I hope I would be worthy of this appointment," said Kajol while accepting a plaque from Cherie Blair.
Cherie, wife of the former British prime minister Tony Blair, is president of the Loomba Trust.
Kajol attended the annual Diwali dinner organised by the trust. The occasion also marked the UN International Day of Non-Violence, commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

"I want to be seen more on screen. But, my recent break from big screen has been pretty long. I look forward to release of my films 'Saas Bahu aur Sensex' and 'Rama the Saviour' this year and get recognition. I want to be taken seriously as an actress," Tanushree, who debuted in 'Ashiq Banaya Aapne' in 2005 after winning the Miss India title in 2004 told PTI here.
