Post ‘Big Brother’, there has been really no looking back for Shilpa Shetty. The latest is that the flavour of this season is now leading opinion polls as the first choice for the Bond girl’s role opposite Daniel Craig in a Bond series movie.

It all started after ‘The People’ website in the UK raised the question about whether Shilpa would agree to play the Bond girl’s role, right after she won ‘Big Brother’. Since then there have been opinion polls across the internet and vast discussions on whether Shlpa qualifies for the ultimate glam role or not.

Interestingly thousands of people have actually voted for the dusky beauty and she has topped almost seven of these polls.

Surprisingly Halle Berry who was Bond girl in 2003’s ‘Die another day’ and who replayed the famous ‘Ursula Andress bikini shot from Dr. No’ has come second to the Indian diva.

However there is a downside as well. There are also sections of people taking part in these discussions who have been saying that things aren’t all that rosy and this could also end up as yet another big Bollywood rumour.

After the Aishwarya Rai and Gulshan Grover rumours, now it’s turn for rumours about the latest international celeb from India.

A few understand silence, Sushmita Sen

Susmita Sen's quite moments are not so quite after all.

For someone as restless in spirit and body as Sushmita Sen, the deathly stillness of her character in Ram Gopal Varma’s Ramgopal Varma ki Aag was a revelation.

“I virtually had to tie myself down. It’s not that I don’t speak in the film. But, I say whatever I’ve to through my eyes. I’ve more still moments in this film than in any other cinema that I’ve done. It’s the quietest character I’ve ever played,” said Sushmita.

“It’s not that my character, Durga, doesn’t speak. It’s that inner tranquillity. And, hats off to Ramu for signing someone with a strong image like me to play someone like Durga ... it requires guts and hindsight. Ramu has both,” she adds.

Sushmita rewinds to Jaya Bachchan who played Radha in Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay. “It was one of the most difficult roles in Sholay. Jayaji was fabulous. Very few people in our cinema understand the sounds of silence. But, let me tell you, she played Radha, I play Durga. She was very passive. I’m very aggressive,” the actress said.

The Bollywood diva is a huge fan of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and is elated about sharing screen space with him. “I’ve stood in the same frame as Mohanlal. I’m honoured. To watch him perform is to watch a whole textbook on Indian cinema unfold in front of your eyes. He’s that brilliant.”

The film had to be renamed as Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag as Sasha Sippy, the grandson of G P Sippy who produced the 1970s hit, had problems with Varma releasing his film with the word Sholay in its title.

Sushmita is all praise for her co-star Prashant Raj. “He’s very good. In his very first film he has to stand next to stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal and Ajay Devgan. That isn’t easy.” Tell her she has a head-start of at least seven years over Prashant, and Sushmita laughs, “Trust me he looks really nice with me.”

However, she has no scenes with Amitabh Bachchan who plays dacoit Babban Singh in the film. “Not this time. But, we had lots of scenes together in two films we did earlier — Hindustan Ki Kasam and Aankhen. In Ramgopal Varma ki Aag, we don’t come face to face at all.”

Negar Khan - Bollywood Actress

Born in Iran, Negar Khan (sometimes credited as Nigar Khan) grew up in Norway, studied in Australia and was pursuing a career in Bollywood until she was deported in February 2005 by Mumbai authorities for working illegally.

She shot to fame with her scantily clad appearance in the 'Chadti Jawani' remix video and numbers in the movies Rudraksh and Shaadi Ka Laddoo.

Negar took part in the film Double Cross, in which she plays a pole dancer. She took pole dance training lessons in London.

She was deported from India to Norway after she was found to have a tourist visa which does not allow her to do work in India. End of 2005 she filmed in an Italian movie titled Vita Smeralda with actor Luigi Cassandra.

Negar Khan was married to Indian actor Sahil Khan but apparently Sahil called off their marriage citing Negar's mother interference and the distance between them as the main factor.

I don't have a personal life: Esha Deol

Esha says she's totally dedicated to her career these days.

Work -- that’s where it all ends for Esha Deol right now. "This is because I really don’t have a personal life now and I’m totally dedicated to my work," she confesses. She's not complaining because her work that gives her the biggest high. Esha is looking forward to acting with her mother. "It will be a reality soon. But I’m going to act with Rekha ji even sooner and am looking forward to that. She has seen me as a baby. People like her and my mom are special," she says.

As for her own work a variety of roles keeps her interest alive. As a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she’s someone who can easily express emotions easily. Which is probably why Esha can switch from one type of role to another with considerable ease. "In Na Tum Jaano Na Hum it was about a relationship kept alive by writing letters, in Just Married it was about a woman in an arranged marriage, and now there's Jannat on the cards. Chemistry is important in such films and I keep observing people to get into the skin of the character," says Esha.

She did her homework for the role in Ankahee where she’s in love with a married man. "I met women who’ve been in that situation to internalise that character," she says.

For Cash, she had to learn to pivot a car 360 degrees. "I did the stunts myself and took special training," she adds.

Sienna is a beauty with brains and with a cause! She recently attended a dinner party hosted by the British Deputy High Commissioner Vicki Treadell at the latter’s residence. Here, Sienna, who is representing IIFA and ‘Global Cool’, charmed the guests with her down-to-earth attitude.

She looked her stunning self in a striped floor-length knit gown. Her cutting edge style sense was obvious in the way she had accessorised her outfit. She wore a set of Amrapali earrings and a bracelet that was gifted to her by Bipasha Basu.

“She also gave me a lovely necklace with all the Goddesses in it. I couldn’t wear it all together, else I’ll look like a Christmas tree,” she quipped.

“I will wear that tomorrow though,” added Sienna who couldn’t stop praising Bipasha. “She is an awesome woman. I have never met anyone who is so beautiful, strong-willed, intelligent and well-spoken,” said Sienna. Bipasha got a Cartier ‘love’ bracelet from Sienna in return for her gesture, “I am in love with Bipasha,” laughed Sienna.

The dinner was also attended by Mehr Jessia and her husband Arjun Rampal and Sienna obliged the shutterbugs present by posing for a photo op with the star couple. Sienna was wearing flat sandals she had earlier bought from Linking Road and joked, “I feel so short in front of you two,” and stood on tip-toe to pose for the pictures with a smirk on her face.

A source revealed that unlike earlier reports Sienna had a great time at Salman’s party and was now looking forward to her trip to Café Leopold’s on Saturday, which she has heard a lot about.

CHENNAI: ‘Thwack’ went the tennis ball against the racquet and the crowd cheered. The ball flew high over the net, sailed past the Sunfeast board beyond the court and landed with a plop on the warm sands of the Mamallapuram beach. Two years of tennis lessons in school had obviously not prepared actor Trisha well enough.

Amidst further cheers and laughter, the beach tennis match between Trisha Krishnan and tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi against squash player Dipika Pallikal and sports commentator Charu Sharma got underway. With hits, misses, tennis balls landing on different parts of the beach, and random rules made up as the game went along, excitement was in the air at the ITC Fortune Chariot Beach Resort in Mamallapuram on Tuesday, the venue of the match.

The match took all of 20 minutes. Pallikal and Sharma were the stronger team but Trisha and Bhupathi made up for it in enthusiasm, winning the game despite putting up a bad show in the beginning.

The game was held to promote the third edition of South Asia’s WTA tournament, Sunfeast Open 2007. Globosport, a sports and entertainment management company founded and headed by Bhupathi, is one of the organisers of the Sunfeast Open, which is to be held in Kolkata in September.

After the match, Dipika Pallikal, a squash player of five years, currently ranked 68 in the world, said, “Five years ago, nobody had heard of squash.” Now, with sponsorships coming in the game is beginning to gain popularity, she added. Events such as these, she said, helped her gain recognition as a player.

Bhupathi said, “Such a game helps increase awareness of the event across India.” He added that it brought tennis closer to people on the street and generated an interest in the game. The Sunfeast Open, he said, gave an opportunity to young Indians and served as a stepping stone to further their careers.

While we don’t need any list to prove Aishwarya Rai is beautiful, the West certainly can’t seem to get enough of her. And marriage to Abhishek Bachchan certainly hasn’t seemed to have affected her appeal.

In a list on the 100 most beautiful women today published by the current Harpers and Queen magazine, the former Miss World has been placed ninth. Interestingly, she bagged the same position in the publication’s list last year too.

Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie topped the list followed by supermodel Christy Turlington, Queen Rania of Jordan, film director Sofia Coppola and celebrity chef Nigella Lawson. The compilation was made by 1000 experts from the all over the world from varied fields of fashion, arts and the media.

Ash, who is shooting in Karjat for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Jodha Akbar’, was not available for comment, but hubby Abhishek is certainly one lucky man, wot say?

It’s raining painters in Bollywood. Twinkle Khanna is the latest celebrity to join the bandwagon of amateur painters.

We already know about the painting talents of Salman Khan , Sushmita Sen , Dia Mirza and Urmila Matondkar . Katrina Kaif recently gifted a self-painted canvas to filmmaker Vipul Shah. And now Twinkle Khanna has joined the list.

Encouraged by her mother Dimple Kapadia , Twinkle has now teamed up with artist Seema Kohli to paint a canvas for charity initiative organised by the NGO Khushii.

Although the canvas is mostly painted by Kohli, Twinkle has added her inputs and has lend a few brush strokes as well.

Twinkle already knows sketching quite well because of her profession of Interior Designing.
